The Percussion League has officially thrown down the gauntlet for the 2025–2026 season—and it’s time for the marching arts community to Catch These Hands. This powerful new drumming challenge goes beyond wordplay—it’s an open invitation for drummers everywhere to step into the spotlight, demonstrate their precision and artistry, and become part of a global push that’s reshaping the future of percussion.
What is Catch These Hands?
Catch These Hands is a recurring drumming challenge series where featured artists and educators from the percussion world drop exclusive licks that test your musicality, sticking accuracy, phrasing, and visual performance. These licks are designed to stretch drummers of all levels while celebrating precision, passion, and perseverance.
Once the challenge lick is released, performers have a limited time to recreate it exactly—note for note, accent for accent, visual for visual—and post their performance to social media. Entrants must tag and follow both the original artist and @thepercussionleague to officially enter.
And this isn’t just for bragging rights.
Why You Should Join this Drumming Challenge
Each round of Catch These Hands includes exciting prizes—from signature sticks to exclusive Vic Firth and Percussion League swag, plus a chance to earn recognition and respect across the percussion community. Winners are selected by the original artist based on execution, interpretation, and authenticity of the lick.
But beyond the rewards, this campaign is about something much deeper: community and growth.
Catch These Hands bridges the gap between rising players and seasoned educators. It opens the door for young drummers to gain visibility and mentorship while pushing themselves to match professional-level content. It’s about iron sharpening iron.
